Privacy Policy

Askly is operated by Dax Allen Thomas ("we", "us"), which provides an AI assistant that helps you think, plan, and reflect. Dax Allen Thomas is the data controller for the personal information described below. To contact us about privacy, email privacy@askly.app.

• Account info: email, display name, avatar.
• Conversations and saved memories you create with Askly.
• Voice input you record when using voice mode.
• Usage data and device identifiers needed to run the service.
• Payment status (subscription tier, renewal date) — payment details themselves are handled by our reseller, Paddle.

• To create your account and provide the service (contract).
• To generate AI responses to your prompts (contract).
• To prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents (legitimate interest).
• To improve the product and fix bugs (legitimate interest).

Your prompts and voice transcripts are sent to AI model providers (e.g. OpenAI, Google, ElevenLabs) so they can generate the response you asked for. They process this data only to return a result to Askly and do not use it to train their public models when we use their API endpoints.

Voice may be processed through these AI providers to convert speech to text and text back to speech. We do not store raw audio recordings on our servers beyond what is needed to deliver the response.

We share data only with:

• Hosting and infrastructure providers running our backend.
• AI model providers (see section 04).
• Paddle.com — our Merchant of Record for payments, subscriptions, tax compliance, and invoicing.
• Authorities, when legally required.

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account. This permanently removes your profile, memories, and conversations within 30 days. You can also clear local memory on-device with one tap.

You may request access, correction, export, or restriction of your data by emailing privacy@askly.app. EEA/UK residents may complain to their supervisory authority.

We use encryption in transit, encryption at rest, scoped access controls, and row-level database policies so that one user can never read another user's data.

Askly is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
